How does Rent-a-Wig work at HairCity?
You choose a wig from our Rent-a-Wig collection, select your rental dates, and pay the rental fee plus a refundable security deposit. We deliver or arrange pickup. You wear the wig, then return it by the agreed date. After inspection, we refund your deposit (minus any applicable deductions).
How much does it cost to rent a wig in Zimbabwe?
Prices depend on the wig tier (Everyday, Premium, or Luxury/Bridal), lace type, length, and overall value. Most rentals start from $10/day. You’ll see the exact daily rate on each product page before checkout.
Is the security deposit refundable?
Yes. The security deposit is refundable after the wig is returned on time, in acceptable condition, and passes inspection. Deductions may apply for late returns, damage, missing items, strong odours, excessive residue, or unauthorised alterations.
How much is the deposit?
Deposit amounts vary by wig value and tier. The deposit amount is clearly shown at checkout or confirmed during booking if your order requires manual approval. Higher value wigs (Luxury/Bridal) typically carry a higher deposit.
How many days can I rent a wig for?
You can rent for as little as 1 day or for multiple days depending on availability. Most customers rent for 2–4 days for weekend events. Weekly rates may be available for longer bookings.
Can I extend my rental?
Yes, if the wig is not booked by another customer. Contact us before your return date to request an extension. Extensions are usually cheaper than late return fees and help us manage bookings fairly.
Do you deliver Rent-a-Wig orders across Zimbabwe?
Yes. We deliver to major cities and towns across Zimbabwe (subject to courier coverage). Delivery fees and timing depend on your location. You can also choose pickup if available.
How early should I book for weddings, graduations, or December holidays?
Book as early as possible, especially for peak dates. Bridal and premium styles often get booked first. If you have a specific event date, secure your booking early to avoid disappointment.
Are rental wigs clean and hygienic?
Yes. All rental wigs are professionally cleaned, sanitised, and checked before being issued. We follow strict hygiene handling to ensure each unit is safe and event-ready.
What comes with the rental (wig cap, glue, comb, etc.)?
Each rental includes the wig unit only unless stated otherwise. Optional add-ons may include a wig cap, melt band, temporary hold kit, and styling services. Add-ons are shown on the product page or at checkout where available.
Can you install or style the rental wig for me?
Installation and styling services may be available depending on location, date, and capacity. If you need this service, contact HairCity before booking so we can confirm availability and pricing.
What is allowed during rental (glue, gel, heat styling)?
Light, temporary hold methods are allowed (wig grip, elastic band, light hold spray). Heat styling is allowed with heat protectant. Heavy glue layers and harsh products that leave thick residue are discouraged because they can cause cleaning deductions.
What is NOT allowed during rental?
Rental wigs must not be dyed, bleached, chemically treated, cut (including lace cutting unless approved), permanently altered, or glued in a way that causes heavy residue. Any unauthorised alterations may result in deposit deductions or replacement charges.
Do I have to wash the wig before returning it?
No. HairCity cleans and sanitises all rental wigs after return. However, the wig must be returned reasonably clean and detangled. Excessive residue, strong odours, or heavy product build-up may result in a cleaning fee.
How do I return the rental wig?
Return options may include in-person return, pickup, or courier return depending on your location and arrangement. You must return by the agreed date. If returning by courier, tracking details must be provided, and the wig remains your responsibility until HairCity receives it.
What happens if I return the wig late?
Late returns may incur daily late fees. Late fees may be deducted from the deposit. We recommend requesting an extension before the return date if your plans change.
What happens if the wig is damaged?
If the wig is damaged beyond normal wear (e.g., torn lace, severe tangling, missing hair, heavy glue damage, cutting, colouring), repair or replacement charges may apply. Where possible, we will repair and deduct only the reasonable cost from the deposit.
What counts as “normal wear” vs “damage”?
Normal wear includes minor shedding, light styling, and normal daily use. Damage includes lace tears, cut lace, harsh chemical exposure, strong odours, heavy residue build-up, extreme matting/tangling, or permanent alterations.
Can I reserve a wig without paying?
Reservations typically require payment to secure the booking, especially for peak dates. If you need special arrangements, contact HairCity support and we will advise on available options.
Can I buy the wig after renting it?
In some cases, yes. If you love the wig, contact HairCity and we’ll confirm if buy-after-rent is available for that unit. Purchase pricing may consider rental fees already paid, depending on the wig condition and policy at the time.
What if the wig doesn’t suit me when it arrives?
Contact HairCity immediately (before installing or altering). If the wig has not been worn/altered and an exchange is possible due to availability and timing, we will assist. Once worn or altered, it may not be eligible for exchange.
Which rental wig is best for first-time renters?
We recommend glueless wigs or closure wigs in medium lengths (14–20”). They’re easier to wear, easy to remove, and lower risk for tangling or lace damage.
How do I choose the right size?
Most rental wigs fit average cap sizes and have adjustable straps. If you need a specific cap size, contact HairCity before booking so we can confirm fit options and recommend the best unit.
