Rent-a-Wig Deposits & Refunds

HairCity’s Rent-a-Wig service in Zimbabwe requires a refundable security deposit to protect our premium human hair wigs and ensure fair use for all customers. This page explains how deposits work, when refunds are issued, and situations where deductions may apply.

Our goal is simple: return your wig on time and in good condition, and you get your full deposit back.

What Is the Security Deposit?

The deposit is a temporary, refundable amount paid alongside your rental fee. It covers:

  • Loss or non-return of the wig
  • Damage beyond normal wear
  • Late returns
  • Excessive cleaning or repairs

It is not a purchase fee and is returned after successful inspection.

Typical Deposit Amounts

Deposits vary depending on the wig’s value, lace type, and length. Higher value units require higher deposits.

When Do I Get My Deposit Back?

Deposits are refunded after:

  • The wig is returned on time
  • The unit passes inspection
  • No damage or excessive residue is found
  • All accessories are returned (if provided)

Refunds are typically processed within 24–48 hours after inspection.

Refund Methods

  • Original payment method (card or mobile payment)
  • Bank transfer (if agreed)
  • Store credit (optional, if preferred)

Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.

Possible Deductions

Partial deductions may apply in the following cases:

  • Late return fees
  • Heavy glue or product residue requiring deep cleaning
  • Strong odours (smoke, perfume, etc.)
  • Excessive tangling or matting
  • Minor lace or cap repairs
  • Missing accessories

Only the reasonable cost of repair or cleaning will be deducted.

When Deposits May Be Forfeited

  • Wig not returned
  • Severe damage (cut lace, dyeing, bleaching, chemical treatment)
  • Permanent alterations
  • Extended late return without communication
  • Loss or theft while in customer possession

In extreme cases, additional replacement costs may apply beyond the deposit.

How to Ensure a Full Refund

  • Return on time
  • Detangle gently before return
  • Avoid heavy glue or gel
  • Do not cut or dye the unit
  • Follow HairCity care instructions

Treat the wig like your own and your full deposit will be returned.
